The weather finally arrived, so Tom says I have to eat my words. But the rain has only been about 1/10 of an inch. That is nothing like what the west coast has been receiving although it is quite bit for our desert climate. Fortunately, the weather has not caused us any delays, and our chariot is already at the gate.
We're people-watching at the moment, it is fairly quiet on a Sunday morning. Even our fellow passengers are mellow and quiet. We left the house at 9 AM and we were checked in and completely through security and at the gate by 9:45. Our plane gets to Houston at 2:30 and then we hang around for a long while until we depart this evening. We did this on purpose, in case there were any weather delays. Now that there aren't any, we're not looking forward to the long layover. But had there been any delays, we would have been really happy to have those extra hours.
We arrive in Santiago in about 19 hours😳. I'll try and stay awake for that first day to give you our impressions in the next post.
And the adventure begins. See you in a few days -- can't wait!!
