That is a real tongue-twister itinerary, isn't it?  Did I say itinerary??  Yes I did...we have booked the Bucket List Safari trip to Africa!!  OK, OK, I have to calm down now, it's not for another 14 months and it won't do to get all excited too early.  But I do want to let you know - whoever that may be, not sure if anyone is even reading this blog - but I will say we are very much excited about this trip.  So if you have advice, knowledge or even relatives in Cape Town, let us know.

Here is our itinerary, we will be gone for about three and a half weeks.  See, I TOLD you it was going to be a Fun Post! 

And now for the good news

Remember yesterday when I promised something much more fun? Well that is just gonna have to wait one more day. Because I just heard that the kid who grew up across the street from us was in the theater in Colorado when the psychopath started shooting. Our neighbor is doing fine, he is coming home tomorrow for a week of rest. So let's just take a moment to thank our Lucky Stars for a normal, quiet, everyday type of day in the USA. And go hug your family extra tight right now.

This is not the Fun Part

Ahh, the retired life is supposed to be so relaxing, right?  So does this man look relaxed?

Yes? No?  Well, look at all that STUFF in piles in his garage.  It is hard to believe he can get two cars in there what with all the bikes and canoe and boxes on industrial strength shelving.  Not to mention he started at 8 am when it was cool and now it is about 90-something and 1:00.

I am pretty sure this is not what we all were thinking about when we anticipated Retirement Adventures.  

 Say kids, take this as a lesson, especially all of you in your 20's and 30's.  Your stuff has a tendency to get stored in boxes and put away somewhere.  Then overnight, when you are sleeping, it procreates and makes more stuff in boxes.  Pretty soon, you have stuff in boxes that you never remember putting in a box, much less storing in your garage.  Twenty years later, you will find yourself like this man.  Opening boxes and saying, "What IS all this ????"


However, stay tuned for tomorrow's update....it is going to be a lot more fun.  I promise.

Update on the garden

Believe it or not, this is that little bitty, teeny weeny green spot planted and posted last spring.  Yes, it is the celery, now going to seed, but it really did grow from just the buried chopped off bottom of what you get at the grocery store.  Who knew?
