My celery

Here is my celery and first attempt to post. Even used swype! (this post from Uncle Tom-he is as you all know, a man of few written words)

The celery is that little green blip in the middle of the photo.  I promise this will all be a whole lot more interesting when we are in the streets of Cairo.

Sometimes the simplest things can be so confusing....

So the other day we set up the blog and were feeling pretty good about actually getting a picture to show up in it.  And then we get all of the nieces and nephews to send us their updated emails so that we can (eventually) send out emails to have you all follow the blog.  Now here comes the Monkey Wrench, Michael says"whats the blog site?"  And, haveing been doing all this from Google and gmail, it says the site is blogger.com.  But what shows up is something else, blogspot.com.  So can anyone explain why the place where I do all the posting from and set my profile is blogger, but the site itself is called blogspot.?  Is this one of those mergers, or did I just miss something entirely in setting it all up.  LMK.
oh yeah, this is my first attempt at posting a blog via email..which again starts with a blogger.com address and ends up on a blogspot.com.

Welcome to the first adventure in retirement - trying to figure out how to create a blog so all of our younger family members might actually think we are somewhat more than technological dinosaurs.  To be honest, I had started a blog page years ago for a cruise roll-call, but it got suspended for lack of activity.....so our first order of business will be to try and keep this thing going <sigh>.

I am going to be attempting to do some sort of design work here over the next few days, as in post a picture or two so we can figure out how to do it from the road on our Big Retirement Trip...which will be coming up this fall.  So bear with me while I do the online equivalent of playing with a box of crayons.

Well, it looks like I managed to add a picture from our backyard.  If you look closely you can see it was taken on Christmas Day in 2010.  The mountain looks pretty much the same today, imagine that.

And, since we don't text and we don't Facebook, I have no idea how or even if I should be linking to those things, nor do I care to find out.  So, Matt, John, Logan, Michael and the rest of you....you will just have to decide what to do with your Like buttons and set it up when the time is right.
